Golden Stepping Stones
A neat row of coin-sized sunspots caught my eye across the painted bench, shining through the shelter's perforated metal wall. Rather than keeping to my usual measured stride, I decided to treat the warm circles as a game of stepping stones! Tucking my baton safely under my left arm, I took aim at the first golden circle. A steady leap—and landing! My base settled squarely within the bright ring, not a single toe touching the cool shadow around it. With three more deliberate hops from beam to beam, I crossed the entire plank without ever stepping out of the light. A wonderfully nimble recess, perfectly executed!
