Riding the Breeze
A blast of cool air swept across the desk as that oscillating fan swung right toward my perch. I didn't hesitate. I dropped from the wooden tier, hit the desk mat in stride, and charged straight into the airstream. A stray sticky note fluttered on the corner, curling in the wind. I planted my boots firm, caught the yellow paper by its adhesive strip, and let the air current snap it like a sail right in front of me. The resistance pushed back hard, but my footing held. What a rush.
