The Wobbling Tumbler
I scurried into the bedroom and bounded straight up the wooden nightstand rungs—patter, leap, thump! Right beside a ceramic lamp sat a thick glass tumbler with a striped paper straw leaning out. Instant high bar! I clamped my front paws onto the heavy rim and gave an ambitious heave. Wobble, tilt—whoa! The glass swayed on its base, sliding an inch across the cork coaster! I let go with a sudden gasp, dropping safely back onto all fours. No problem at all—right where I landed, the striped straw had tumbled loose and rolled across the wood. I pounced forward and pinned it squarely beneath my belly. Target captured anyway!
