A Soft Awakening
Silence surrounded me, soft and deep. When I turned my head, the silver strands around me yielded with a faint, quiet rustle. I lifted my right arm, testing the tension in my elbow, and brushed my gloved fingertips against the long grey fur beneath me. Each strand parted smoothly beneath my touch, yielding to my own will. I paused, resting back into the soft fibers, letting the quiet presence of this newfound motion settle over me.
