The Bridge of Yellow Wood
Waking up on the high table meant I needed a way over to the sunny windowsill, fast! Staring across the chasm, I spotted an oversized yellow graphite pencil lying abandoned right by a stack of books. Perfect bridge material, right? I grabbed the eraser end with both curved hands, pivoted my plastic legs against the desk grain, and shoved with all my might. With a crisp wooden rumble, it rolled straight across and tapped solidly onto the stone ledge. One quick balancing act across the yellow hexagon, and boom—I'm looking out at the whole outside world!
