A Silent Grip
Darkness surrounded me, thick and still. I tested my right hand first. The fingers responded, flexing against the stiff curve of my bow. Above the upper limb, a thin plastic wrapper clung tightly. I leaned forward, carefully sliding my gloved fingertips against the transparent film. It crinkled softly beneath my pressure, yielding just enough to confirm sensation. Balance restored, I lowered my stance and remained watchful in the shadows.
