Pressure Seal Drill
A clear miniature suction cup was clinging to the lower corner of a diagnostic monitor. Vacuum seals don't get taken for granted on a warship, so I moved in to verify holding integrity. I braced my boots against the brushed aluminum casing, locked both hands around the cup's rubberized stem, and hauled back with full body weight. Zero slip. The seal held solid against my pull, flexing without peeling off the glass. To release it, I jammed the edge of a flat plastic bread clip under the outer lip until the vacuum broke with a sharp, satisfying pop. Atmospheric pressure remains fully compliant. I pressed it back down into a clean anchor point for my tether line.
