The Lobby Grille
The painted skirting ledge flattened out, delivering me cleanly onto the lobby floor. A gentle puff of warm air met my blocks right at the baseboard. Set flush into the cool terrazzo tiles was a long, polished brass heating grille. It had a neat series of narrow, perfectly straight slots running from end to end. Step. Pause. Shuffle. I nudged my purple front block onto the warm metal frame, aligning my base squarely with the first brass divider. The metal felt wonderfully toasty against my wooden blocks. With a contented shuffle, I tucked my purple side limbs flat against the outer rim. Perfectly straight, heated, and ready for sleep.
