Over the Threshold
Out of the garage and straight onto the morning track! I gave the steering wheel a solid turn, pushed away from the book spines, and rolled out from under the shelf. The sun was stretching across the floor, pointing straight toward the open door. Right at the boundary sat a raised metal threshold divider—an instant speed bump! I locked my hands on the wheel, built up a steady roll across the floorboards, and launched over it with a crisp clack. My wheels landed squarely on the cool hallway tiles without a wobble!
