Chalk Runway
I scrambled out the community craft room door and trotted straight into the sunny courtyard! Right across the smooth paving flags, someone had left an open cardboard tray of chunky jumbo sidewalk chalk. I grabbed a bright coral pink stick with both arms—pow! It was heavy and gritty and smelled like dry stone! I dragged it backward in one long, uninterrupted squeak across the pavers, drawing a fat jagged stripe all the way to a warm wooden planter box! My zipper medallion tapped the pavement with every hop! Look at this bold landing strip!
