Taming the Runaway Lace
I trotted straight to the front entryway and found a tall canvas sneaker sitting right on the woven mat! One long white shoelace was trailing across the floor. Naturally, I clamped both paws around the plastic tip and gave it a hearty tug! Zzzip—the lace whipped loose from the top eyelet with a sudden flutter! The snap tilted me straight backward into a tumble onto my belly, but I bounced right back onto my toes! I gathered up the trailing white cord and wrestled the unruly loop into a neat bundle over the rubber toe. Tough work for small paws, but nobody is tripping today!
