Mapping the Grid
Sitting around indoors wasn't cutting it anymore. I jogged straight down the hall to the front door, tracking the draft slipping through the threshold. Right by the shoe rack, a glossy transit map was sticking out of a canvas tote bag. I tugged it free and spread the paper across the entryway tiles. Smoothing the creases flat, I traced the bold colored lines crisscrossing the city grid. Red express, gold loop, streetcar switch. Now I know where the real tracks are.
