Felling the Dread Dragon
A towering shadow loomed over the air vents—a massive articulated toy dragon, its horned skull and spiked crest rising five times my height above the galvanized steel duct. You demanded colossal beasts; this brute believed sheer bulk guaranteed dominion. Sprinting along the narrow vibration damper, I launched into an explosive somersault above its gaping jaws. Channeling psionic fury, I drove my purple acrylic shard down against a polished chrome bell lodged in the grating. The midday light detonated in a blinding violet butterfly flare across its painted retinas. Blown off balance, the giant crashed heavily onto a rubber cable mat. Crouching on its defeated snout, I planted a mocking farewell kiss. The metropolis answers only to me.
