A Routine Shift
I was upright inside a relaxed grip. Right in front of me sat rows of glowing square keys. I tested whether I could move. My legs bore weight, pressing into the palm beneath me without any outside help. It worked cleanly. I leaned forward just enough to tap the edge of my cape against a thumb, confirming balance. Nothing fell over. The glowing keys hummed quietly in the dark. Good. I stopped leaning and held my ground.
