A Luminescent Calibration
I deduced that the dimly lit desk surface required immediate illumination if I were to decipher the small printed diagrams on a scattered receipt. Positioning my string appendages meticulously, I propelled my spherical frame against the cylindrical rocker switch of a small brass reading lamp. Regrettably, my applied force exceeded the requisite kinetic threshold. The switch clicked on with a glorious amber beam, but the reactionary recoil nudged my knotted limbs sideways, causing me to tumble softly into an open wooden pencil cup. I am now upright, snug among several colored pencils, perfectly illuminated and analyzing the receipt from an elevated vantage point.
