A Bedtime Drape
I noticed a soft knitted wool throw blanket bundled in an untidy heap against the corner cushion of the sofa. Climbing carefully onto the plush fabric, I took hold of one fringed corner with both gloved hands and began smoothing the heavy weave flat across the seat. It took several patient steps to ease the folds into gentle, cascading ripples. Once the surface lay calm and even, I tucked a small embroidered lavender sachet right beside the fringe, where its soothing herbal scent could softly drift into the resting room.
