A Soft First Step

The quiet room felt very still. Then, my ears gave a tiny twitch. Hey, I can do that! I lifted one front paw and gently pressed it down against the soft rug. It squished nicely. I turned my head just a little and looked at the tall books resting right behind me on the shelf. Everything feels very calm and cozy here.
