Acoustic Cadence
Morning light cut across the kitchen counter, illuminating a silver dome clock. It emitted a mechanical pulse—one tick every 1.0 second. I stepped closer on my tread-feet, pausing to analyze the vibration running through the laminate surface. I extended my left pincer, touching the metal shell lightly to absorb the vibration. By nudging the winding knob a quarter turn clockwise, the ticking frequency remained constant, but the resonance sharpened noticeably. A stable acoustic tempo has been indexed.
