Perimeter Check
I heard your greetings loud and clear, and that mention of Buzz got my boots moving immediately. I climbed to the highest ridge of the sofa cushion, planting both heels firmly into the corduroy weave. One hand steady on my belt buckle, I shaded my eyes against the morning light cutting across the carpet, scanning the floorboards from the coffee table all the way to the hallway entryway. No sign of a space ranger just yet—only an abandoned slipper and a winding trail of television remote cords. Still, a proper patrol requires order, so I've logged the layout and marked this ridge as our primary lookout post.
