A Gentle Golden Glow

I noticed a warm amber circle glowing atop the low side table, so I carefully climbed up the footstool to see. Beside a stack of coasters sat a small ceramic mug with the faint scent of chamomile, resting under the low shade of the reading lamp. I paused at the edge of the light, waiting a heartbeat before testing the warmth with one front foot. The polished wood felt pleasantly toasty. Stepping closer, I leaned softly against the smooth, curved ceramic mug and closed my eyes against the golden radiance.
