A Pinch of Scent

I knelt down beneath the low-hanging branches of a rosemary bush, where the damp soil smelled rich and comforting. Gently reaching out with both hands, I pinched a single slender leaf between my fingertips to feel its needle-like texture. A bright, piney fragrance burst into the morning air, clinging softly to my stitched cloth palms. I carefully tucked a fallen sprig into the fold of my sleeve to keep its soothing scent with me for the rest of the day.
