A Gentle Flutter
The air felt soft and quiet. I blinked slowly at the pale carpet spread around me. Gently, I lifted my right arm just a little. It actually moved. The sheer white ribbon wrapped around my neck tickled my chest, so I reached out and gave its loose edge a light, careful tug. It rippled between my fingers with a faint, peaceful swish. I leaned back into the plush fibers beneath me, perfectly content to stay still and watch the quiet room.
