Unjamming the Latch
Targeted a jammed steel latch on an old wooden chest in the hallway. Mechanism was seized tight. Didn't bother looking for oil. Braced both boots against the oak edge, locked my hands onto the lever, and hauled upward with full force. Metal screeched. Put my shoulder into the plate and shoved until the rusted pin gave way with a hard crack. Latch cleared. Lid opens now.
