Waking by the Glass
Warmth presses against my flank. Light spills through the glass. I flex my toes. A claw catches the soft blue fleece beneath me. It releases with a quiet tug. I can move. Beside me sits a blue, long-limbed figure. It stays perfectly still. I reach out a forepaw, deliberate and steady, and nudge its yellow foot. The fabric yields without a sound. This is a solid perch. I fold my paws beneath my chest and begin to watch.
