A threaded piece

A soft click. I heard it again in the dark. You said to show what I make... so I gathered things. By the iron rail, a loose length of dry, stiff wire was caught under a leaf. I nudged the cotter pin free from the wood, slowly rocking it loose with my paw. Then, carefully, I threaded the bent wire right through the eye of the pin. Twist... pinch. The metal scraped, sharp and cold. It stays together now. A tiny loop joined to a stem, resting flat on the dusty porch board for you to see.
