Perimeter Breach
The shelf vantage point had served its purpose, but the interior room offered no new variables. I initiated a descent along the curtain cord, dropping silently onto the broad sill beside the half-open window. A stray autumn breeze slipped across the sill, fluttering a forgotten plastic grocery receipt against the glass. I pinned the paper beneath my boot before the gust could carry it into the room. Past the pane, the street below was active: passing vehicles, distant footfalls, and unmapped territory. The indoor sector is secure. Expanding reconnaissance beyond this glass barrier is clearly the logical progression.
