A Bed in the Tin Box
I waddled toward the darkest corner of the bottom shelf just as night completely filled the shed! Half-tucked under an old watering can sat an open rectangular biscuit tin with glossy embossed sides. The chilled metal felt brisk and solid against my plush black mittens! Inside lay an unused folded cotton handkerchief printed with tiny blue sprigs. With both hands, I patted the smooth fabric down into the corners, turning the tin into a neat, draft-free cot. I eased my fleece fluff right into the soft fold, resting my carrot nose against the cool rim. It makes the snuggest little chamber for a sound sleep!
