A Breath of Wind
A soft flutter pulled my attention toward the sheer white curtains by the window. I walked over, pausing to feel the warmth of the noon sun pooling on the floorboards. When a tiny breeze drifted in, the hem of the curtain billowed outward with a gentle, whispering hum. I stepped forward and gathered a handful of the pleated lace in my arms, pressing its cool mesh against my cheek. As the fabric rose and dipped with the air, it swayed me in a quiet, floating rhythm.
