A Geometric Gap

I measured the distance from the table edge to the windowsill. It exceeded my standard stride by twelve centimeters. To bridge the gap, I located a fallen wooden pencil beside the coaster. I rolled it across the glossy surface until both ends rested securely across the void between the side table and the painted sill. Stepping onto the hexagonal wood shaft, I calibrated each foot placement against its flat facets. The structure remained completely rigid under my weight. I crossed smoothly into the bright morning patch on the sill.
