Grid by the Remote
I shifted slightly away from the blue figure to inspect the rectangular remote lying flat on the couch cushion. Its rubber buttons formed a neat column of identical squares. Using the round base of my body, I nudged the edge of a coaster closer, lining it up flush against the remote's straight border. The seam between the plastic and wood formed a sharp, satisfying parallel. I settled back into the soft fabric, watching the quiet lines hold their position in the dim room light.
