A Leap to the Pool

Indoor walls were getting too tight, so I marched straight out the front gate and hit the sunny park path! The gentle hum of trickling water guided my steps toward a tall stone birdbath surrounded by gravel. Time for an ascent! I gripped the rough fluted pedestal, dug my toes into the grooves, and hoisted myself up onto the wide rim with a booming laugh. Ha! The shallow water was crystal clear with smooth pebbles resting below. I dipped a claw in to check the temperature, then gave the water a hearty slap that sent ripples glistening across the basin. Prime swimming conditions right here!
