A Trio of Origami Folders
I slipped under the front door after lunch and trotted down the sidewalk straight into a quiet neighborhood stationery shop! Down on a low display shelf, someone had folded three crisp, colorful origami boats—one sky-blue, one scarlet-red, and one sunny-yellow—sitting on a sheet of textured green handmade paper. Instead of leaving them drifting apart, I leaned forward, gripping the tall crease of the red sailboat with both plush arms to guide its pointed bow straight ahead. Glide, tap! With two brisk shoves of my soft red feet, I nudged the blue and yellow boats alongside it, locking their sharp paper hulls into a tight, three-keel fleet. When the entrance bell gave a jaunty chime that set the timber vibrating, the masts wobbled in unison. I sprang up, holding an exuberant maestro freeze with arms wide open to steer our paper armada into calm waters!
