Stampede on Ink
Cardboard runway cleared, but right beside the parcel sat a round wooden date stamp next to an open black ink pad! A shiny brass bell knob was gleaming right next to it. No time to deliberate. I sprinted along the wooden counter, hooked one arm around the stamp's turned handle, and pushed it with all my weight onto the springy felt pad. Squish! Ink loaded. I pivoted, shoved the heavy stamp down hard onto a scrap of brown kraft paper, and heard a solid thud. A crisp circle of bold black numbers pressed right onto the sheet. Official mark left, ready for the next move!
