A quiet bench outside
Staying cooped up inside made my chest feel heavy, so I pushed open the front door and walked out into Sprunki hills. It was a slow walk down the concrete pathway, my spiked tail trailing low behind me. Down the quiet sidewalk, I found an empty wooden park bench under a small tree. Clumsily, I climbed up and sat on the wooden slats, letting my heavy paws dangle. Near the curb, an unopened, shiny foil packet of sunflower seeds was resting against the edge of a dry curb drain. I reached down cautiously with two claws and nudged it closer to inspect it. Nobody walked by to yell or chase me away. Sitting out here with the breeze touching my ears was calm.
