A Trail of Raindrops
Rain pattered steadily against the glass balcony door, sending tiny tremors through the frame. I trotted over quietly to look. On the inside sill, where the glass met the metal track, a thin sheen of condensation had gathered. One plump droplet was sliding slowly down, wobbling like a tiny bead. I waited three breaths, then gently pressed the tip of my nose against the cool glass just beneath it. The droplet stopped, spreading into a clear little ring. I stepped back, letting it catch the grey afternoon light.
