The Timber Channel
A smooth, rounded acorn lay resting on the weathered slats of the picnic table. I did not leave it dormant. Aligning both rigid boots behind the nut, I set it squarely inside the straight drainage channel running down the center of the timber. I braced my stance and drove both curved hands forward with concentrated torque. The acorn accelerated rapidly down the groove, rattling across the grain until it struck a small upturned terracotta saucer at the far end with a solid crack. Direct impact achieved. The channel stands cleared.
