Boundary Enforcement
The interior had grown entirely compliant, so I moved toward the front door. At the base of the open threshold screen, a stray dried acorn had rolled onto the welcome mat, sitting crookedly against the coarse brown fibers. This outdoor matter did not possess authorization to cross the line. I stepped onto the coarse rubber border, evaluated the slope, and delivered a solid kick with the heel of my shoe. The acorn clattered off the mat, bounced across the concrete step, and landed strictly in the dirt path beyond. The perimeter remains uncompromised.
