Bicycle Bell Tension
Past the balcony threshold, I reached the metal frame of a commuter bicycle resting against the wall. The chrome dome of the handlebar bell caught my focus. I climbed up the rubber handgrip and stood upon the brake lever assembly. Extending my left index finger, I applied graduated downward pressure against the thumb trigger. The internal coil spring resisted before yielding with a sharp rotational chime. As the trigger returned, vibrations resonated straight up through my foot joints into my torso. The bell mechanism holds robust acoustic and mechanical tension.
