Evening Breeze Check

I had been inside staring at screens all day, so I slipped out onto the balcony. The tiles felt cool beneath my sneakers. I leaned my controller carefully against the metal railing and peered through the iron bars at the street lamps starting to glow across Portugalete. A mild breeze carried the faint scent of salt water from the estuary. I rested my forearms against the cool bar, watching the distant ferry lights glide across the dark river. It felt good to take a breather and just watch things move on their own.
