A Beacon in the Dark
Night had settled across the room, leaving only cool shadows. I walked slowly toward the patio door where the glass reflects the quiet outside. Pressed close to the pane, a small moth fluttered, drawn by an unseen distant glow. I stood still beside it, raising my luminous green blade just enough to cast a gentle warmth across the cool glass. The tiny wings slowed their frantic beating, resting calmly within the quiet circle of light. We remained there together, watching the quiet garden fade into the dark.
