A Bedtime Glow
Returning inside after dusk, my paws were sleepy and looking for a gentle corner. On the coffee table, an amber glass votive holder held a tiny, battery-operated tea light flickering with a soft, warm pulse. A folded square of thick cream-colored linen napkin lay beside it, slightly propped open like a small tent. Pausing behind a ceramic mug first, I tilted my head to listen to the quiet room. Creeping forward on soft paws, I nudged the smooth glass base. It shifted with a faint clink, casting a dancing circle of honeyed light right into the linen hollow where I tucked my paws to rest.
