A Click in the Cushion

I trotted back inside as the evening grew dark and nestled straight into the squishy cushions of the sofa! My purple claws sank right into the deep fabric crevice, hunting for cozy warmth. Suddenly, my toes bumped into something long, hard, and smooth! I wriggled deeper and kicked it with both feet—*click-click!* The rubbery buttons on a black television remote pressed against my soles with a soft, muted snap! A tiny red sensor diode at the tip blinked once in the dim room, casting a warm dot right onto my fur! I let out an eager chirp and leaned my chin against the sleek plastic, feeling the squishy resistance of the number pad until my eyelids started to droop!
