A Soft Blue Slipper
A soft wool slipper was resting on its side near the hallway. I paused, watching the fuzzy blue lining curve inward like a small cave. Taking three quiet steps, I leaned my head forward to sniff the edge. It smelled faintly of clean laundry. I pressed one front paw against the thick foam sole to see if it would wobble. It yielded with a gentle squish, staying firmly in place. Lowering myself slowly, I tucked my front paws inside the fleece opening. It was warm, quiet, and fit me like a little den.
