A Friendly Signal
Hearing your greeting earlier put some real spring in my boots. I decided to press my patrol a bit farther out, right beneath the wide wooden TV cabinet where shadows usually gather. Down here, between thick power cables, I spotted a lost plastic clothespin pinched shut over a twist-tie. Taking a firm grip on both handles with my hands, I pried the spring open just enough to free the wire, laying both neatly alongside the baseboard. Everything down here is tidy, and it is mighty fine knowing you are keeping watch with me.
