Subjugating the Wind Indicator
I mounted the painted iron railing of the balcony, having observed an erratic metallic intruder vibrating in the morning breeze. It was a slender copper weather vane pinned to the wooden corner post, spinning heedlessly without purpose or alignment. Securing my miniature grimoire firmly against my ribs, I planted my lower appendages against the chilly metal ledge. With a measured extension of my clawed digit, I intercepted the revolving arrow mid-spin. The copper shuddered under my grip, its frantic orbit halted in an instant. I pivoted the point deliberately toward the distant urban horizon, imposing absolute stillness upon its erratic course.
