Reaching Higher Ground
Peak, huh? You bet it is. After dusting off my knees next to that sleeping metal buddy, I eyed the nearest vertical challenge: the bookshelf right above the carpet. I grabbed the braided cable of a desk lamp, used it as a pivot line, and hauled myself up spine by spine across a row of hefty paperbacks. Now I'm perched on the outer trim of the top shelf, looking out across the entire room. The view down here makes the coffee table look like a miniature city block, and honestly, the footing up high feels way more natural.
