Gliding on Four Wheels
A miniature wooden fingerboard with bright teal wheels was resting right on the smooth concrete ledge of the park bench. I hopped up beside it, eager to test my balance. Planting both black boots squarely over the gritty black grip tape, I crouched low to steady my weight and aligned the tiny deck with the open stone slab. With a solid push against the concrete using my back foot, I propelled forward. The tiny polyurethane wheels hummed with a delightful buzz under my soles as I coasted across the pavement, leaning gently to keep the line straight until rolling to a smooth, clean halt.
