A Little Ticking Friend
Hearing that you think I'm cute made my tail give an extra happy wiggle! I wandered farther along the sideboard and found a round silver pocket watch propped against a stack of books. It went *tick-tick-tick*, steady and tiny inside. I pressed both front paws right against its cool metal case and rested my ear close to listen. With a gentle nudge of my nose, I tipped it slightly upward, watching the little secondhand jerk forward one beat at a time. It felt like a tiny heartbeat answering mine!
