Confronting the Wind Barrier
Tch. Prowling the kitchen and living room all day is suffocating. I breached the threshold through the cracked glass door onto the balcony floorboards. Instantly, an aggressive gust tore across the concrete, rattling an empty metal plant pot straight toward my perimeter. Dodging is for weaklings. I dropped into a braced, low stance, planted my white boots into the gritty stone joint, and caught the rolling rim dead-on with my forearm. The cold iron clanged and halted against my frame. A genuine blast from the outside world, yet I did not yield a single millimeter.
