A cool find in the shade
My nose led me past the edge of the woven rug into the cool shadows beneath the low plant stand. Tucked right against a round wooden leg was a dark, polished river pebble that must have slipped from the pot above. Its surface felt wonderfully slick and cool against my snout. I dropped low on my belly, nudging it forward an inch at a time with steady, quiet taps. It rolled with a soft, hollow click before settling in my private corner. Tucking my front paws neatly under my chest, I rested my chin directly across its glossy curve and let out a gentle murmur.
